AT THE OAK TREE GUN CLUB PISTOL RANGE

GUN CLEANING WORKSHOP

 

You will learn:  How to clean your rifle, pistol, and/or shotgun.
  How often you should clean your guns.
  How completely you should disassemble your gun to clean it.
  How to clean black powder guns.
  About special considerations for antique firearms.
  How to prepare your guns for long-term storage.
  About basic equipment and supplies necessary for gun cleaning.

 

Practical Demonstrations on Cleaning:
 
Rifles: Bolt Action (.22 Mossberg Target Rifle)
  Lever Action (.30-30 Model 94 Winchester)
  Semi-Auto (.30 Cal. U.S. Carbine)
  Antique (.45-70 Calvary Carbine)
 
Pistols: Fixed-Cylinder Revolvers  (.45 Ruger Blackhawk) 
  Swing-out Cylinder Revolvers  (.357 Smith & Wesson Model 19) 
  Semi-Autos (.45 Auto Colt 1911) 
  Antique (.36 Navy Whitney Revolver) 
   
Shotguns Top-break (12 Gauge L.C. Smith Double) 

Pump  (12 Gauge Remington 870) 

Taught by Brian D. Dillon, Ph.D., NRA Certified Instructor

Bring your rifle, pistol, and/or shotgun (3 guns maximum per participant) to Oak Tree Gun Club for hands-on instruction on cleaning, and basic maintenance. All firearms in cases or gun bags, please. UNLOAD ALL GUNS before bringing them to the workshop. BRING NO AMMUNITION to the workshop. BRING NO DISASSEMBLED GUNS to the workshop. Please wear old clothes.

Workshop Fee: $25.00

This 4-hour workshop will be held from 8:00am to 12:00pm on at the Oak Tree Gun Club Pistol Range. Attendance will be limited to the first 20 participants who pay the course fee. First come, first served. Each student must bring the gun cleaning materials specified in the list on the opposite page to the workshop. Most required materials can be obtained at the Oak Tree Gun Club Pistol Range Pro Shop.
