This great itinerary will showcase the highlights of the 2011 Dakar, as well as the amazing geography of northern Chile and Argentina. The centerpiece of this trip is riding through the amazing Andes Mountains. During your week of travel you’ll cross the Andes twice, back to back, over two of the highest mountain passes in the world. It is these very passes that set the stage for Dakar 2011.
The itinerary for this amazing one week adventure will be:

DAY 2 (Sunday) Depart from Salta City to San Antonio de los Cobres.
DAY 3 (Monday) Climbing over the Andes into Chile ending in the driest desert in the world: San Pedro de Atacama. Unforgettable!
DAY 4 (Tuesday) Heading back to Argentina, crossing the Andes Mountains over the "Paso de Jama" at 14500 ft (this is the very same road all the competitors are going to use next January) to the beautiful northern city of Purmamarca.
DAY 5 (Wednesday) Cafayate, Salta. Great wines and great food!
DAY 6 (Thursday) Catamarca and its picturesque valleys
DAY 7 (Friday) Cordoba, which is the site of two days of the 2011 Dakar.
