There is no minimum age for Hunter Safety Classes. The course curriculum is based at a 5th grade level, so we suggest a minimum age of 10.  All minor participants must be accompanied by a legal guardian or parent.

You must score 80% on the test to pass. if you do not pass you can come back next month or any future class to re-take the test.

You do not have to pay again, but you need to register for a future class and arrive at 2:30pm to re-take the test.

The test is 100 written questions, with 50% of them being true/false and 50% being multiple choice.

Oak Tree Gun Club has a restaurant onsite, lunch is available to purchase.  There are also vending machines.  Students are welcome to bring their own lunch as well.

Shooting ranges are available after the class session is over.  Check-in and acknowledgement of facility range rules is separate from the Hunter Ed Class.

Yes, your Hunter Education Certificate in recognized in all states that require it. Also good in Canada and Mexico.

No, you must take a different test called the ”FSC - Firearm Safety Certification”. You can take this test anytime at any gun store.  Additional fees will apply.

Check in time is 8:15am and ends when testing portion is finished.

The class is (1) one full day (eight hours), plus (2) hours credit when home study is finished. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO TAKE THE EXAM UNLESS THE HOMEWORK IS COMPLETED.

No. By State Fish & Game regulations & International Hunter Education Association rules state this is a Not For Profit program. The class fee you are charged is to cover class expenses, such as supplies, refreshments,  advertisement, classroom rental.

The class costs $20, payable to the Oak Tree prior to the date scheduled.  Please come in to the Beretta store to make your payment and pick up your class materials (booklet) prior to your class date in order to complete the necessary home study portion of the class.

No. Because this is a (1) one day class, you are required to have the work book material ahead of time to study and finish the review questions at the end of the book. Also, since we have a class minimum attendance of (10) ten students we must know ahead of time if we have enough students to hold a class.

We will allow interpreters for students.  Our policy is to allow an interpreter during the class lectures.  Under no circumstances is the classroom interpreter to administrate the test. We do have a limited supply of Chinese and Spanish books & tests. Books can be requested at the time of registration.

We will make every effort to accommodate students with disabilities of any kind.  Please make sure to notify the staff in advance so we have time to make the necessary accommodations.
